Orchestra Tech Cadre meeting Monday after school!

Every so often we must grapple with a choice that will alter the course of history.  We now face such a choice.  We must decide the theme of our spring concert.

Rock of Ages – KMSO plays the ultimate mix of the greatest hits of all time!  Selections might include songs by The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Nirvana, Michael Jackson, Lady Gaga and more!

A Night at the Movies – The drama, the comedy!  KMSO captures the magic of the greatest cinematic soundtracks of all time!  Selections might include scores from Disney classics, Pirates of the Caribbean, Twilight, James Bond, The Avengers, and more!

This past weekend KMS students participated in the Region 24 All-Region Middle School Orchestra.  Students auditioned with hundreds of other students throughout the region for the chance to represent Killian at this highly competitive festival.  Congratulations to Sade Oyedipe – Concert Violin, Sammy Alivernia – Sinfonia Bass, Isaac Ke – Sinfonia Cello, and Sam Song – Chamber Viola.  Reflecting on the region audition process, Sam Song observes, “When practicing for anything, quality over quantity creates excellence.”

After a fantastic weekend of orchestral rehearsals and concerts, Isaac Ke remarks, “All-Region Orchestra was a great experience.  I had fun playing with the best string players in our region.  I am honored to represent Killian.”

The future is bright for these orchestra students.
